GDF SUEZ E&P Norge currently holds interests in the Snøhvit Unit and in production licenses PL110B and PL110C, PL448, PL448B and PL488 close to Snøhvit. In addition, we hold interests in PL394 and PL230, as well as operatorship of PL530 that was awarded in 2009. In 2011 GDF SUEZ E&P Norge was awarded three additional operatorships; PL612, PL607 and PL610.

The main driver for the exploration around Snøhvit is to add enough gas for a second LNG train on Melkøya. The last Awards in Predefined Areas rounds have been important for adding more acreage.

In 2011 GDF SUEZ E&P Norge drilled its first operated Barents Sea exploration well, named Heilo, in PL530.
